With a capacity of 38.065 seats the Telia Parken Stadium is the largest football stadium in Denmark. The home of the FC København and the Danish national team has been nominated as a venue for the UEFA Euro 2021. In addition to update the technical system to state-of-the-art technology, the underlying FIFA regulations were of course a decisive factor in choosing technical equipment. In order to fulfill the UEFA standards for a category 4 stadium, a new voice evacuation system was installed. In comparison to the standards from 2018, the new regulations provide even stricter requirements: “Each stadium must be equipped with a certified, state of the art public address system capable of communicating with all spectators inside and outside the stadium, covering all turnstiles, toilets, concourses (including gates) and terraces. The system should be zoned to cover all areas inside and outside the stadium and override all other sound and entertainment systems, nevertheless the system should be adjustable in den media and VIP tribunes.”

A system according to those regulations has been planned and installed by our partners ExitSound. To meet the system requirements for the installed technology, a high STI value, a high frequency range, a high sound pressure level and special sound quality had to be achieved. To meet these acoustic requirements, ExitSound installed more than 600 loudspeakers of different product lines from TOA Electronics. Not only was ExitSound thus able to meet the regulatory requirements, but also the guaranteed spare parts warranty of 10 years spoke for the choice of TOA.
